Can I make the game less laggy?
Hello and thank you for your attention. I wanted to know if there is something wrong with my PC or the actuall game. Here are my specs:

iMac (21.5 inch late 2013)
macOS 10.12.6 (actuall version)
Intel Core-i5 2.9 GHZ
8GB RAM 1600MHz DDR3
Graphic card.- NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024MB

I fit in minimum requairments and i still have lags on low sets. Why?

Thank you.

How many Civs are you playing against? What size of map? Lag tends to be caused by units moving around, ie alot of barbs.. could try either hunting them down or switching them off. With the game in general, I find smaller maps, but more civs is better than large maps with fewer civs. that way they tend to stagnate pretty quick but also cover the entire map.

I play on Normal size maps with number of civs that are selcted to this type of map.

Martin, do you have lags in the game? And what your specs are if you could tell me?

well I don't use mac's, so don't know how they directly compare, but I'm guessing the lack of gpu vram and low end ram probably isn't helping much. I'm aware that the newest ver of mac os is having some issues with many games, like memory management issues, which in turn is causing a few crash issues, but if you were using a pc, I'd suggest 12 gb ram minimum, 16 on avg, cpu is ok really, turns might take longer. But the gpu is pretty low end, even when it was released. It is one of those gpus noone actually bought as a standalone.. but got lumped with it in a notepad or something.

I take it you've tried stuff like switching off day/night cycle, disable barbs, use fewer city states, stuff like this?

I use a Ryzen 1600x 32 gb of 3000mhz ram and a 8gb vram Rx470 gpu.. I don't get lag on any map size. In fact, I can play on Max size map, on marathon, with all the civs, all the city states and stream the game without any lag.

However.. that said.. my game randomly crashes every 2-3 hours.. without fail. lol. Without mods, on a brand new install.. until these bugs are fixed.. who is to know just how bad, bad hardware actually is.

I tried, yeah the mac system is not really good for games like the windows is. Thanks for your attention again <3

I don't think the mac is particularly bad, it is really just a pc with a different o/s. It's just made by Apple and I really don't personally like Apple or Microsoft.. never have. Don't like any of these giant multicorps.

If you play v 1 ai and say 1 city state on a small map, do you get lag in mid/late game?

I have just played on lower sets and the game was smoth. with 8 civs normal map mid game trun around 300. i think that 1v1 small map one city state should be smoth through out the whole game ;)
