Desync strikes back! Now it's terminal.
So me and a couple of my friends are playing Civilization 6 pretty much every evening for the last few years. Previously, we kinda sorta managed to work around the every-second-turn desync problem.

Then the super-update arrived (along with a few new leaders) that fixed those desyncs and allowed us to finally play the game without shamanic mumbo-jumbo.

And then The Rulers of England leader pack arrived. And since, our games can't be played further than 140 turns, give or take 15. Sometime around turn 140 (125 to 150) every game that we start desyncs and continues to do so every turn or every other turn. And no solution was found to work around this. Loading a few-turns-before savegame? Doesn't work anymore, no matter if it's a one turn before savegame or five. Restart the game and Steam and then load a savegame from a few turns before? Doesn't work either. Moreover, when we try to load a savegame, one of our players gets desynced immediately after the game is loaded.

So far, every new game behaves like this.
Have anyone encountered this too? Any advice on how to fight this?

We're using some quality of life interface mods. We managed to contain the desync problem by leaving the mods on the host only. Other players disabled the mods and everything was fine. Maybe one or two desyncs an evening. To prevent further desyncs we loaded the previous autosave and the game continues smootly.

After the Rulers of England this is not the way anymore. When the game desyncs it keeps desyncing on this particular turn no matter how much earlier the save we are loading was made. Essentialy it's a time-limeted demo version now - play for 120-150 turns and start the new game because your current one is now corrupted and unplayable.

Its the absolute worst thing about civ 5/6 and with the last patch something has hit hard.

we save the game and reload and host is the only person to enter the game.
Im forever stuck in a looping lobby.

honestly i have 2000h in Civ and 50% of those games have been desync hells.

Truly horrible
we have no mods, we play in the same LAN. really really disappointing.

try disabling something in additional content and re-enable it while making your lobby.
Works for me as long as my friends have verified their files after any small update

Rulers of England DLC is broken. We disabled it and everything came back to normal.

Nah, the game is broken completely. Disable or enable RoE, it starts desyncing around turn 130.

Even though Firaxis probably won't read this, I gotta say... Hire a proper network programmer and fix the f-ing desyncing. It's 2023, games tend to use networks a lot and send/receive much more data at much higher speeds than a turn-based game would need. Not to mention the prices that have been paid for this particular turn-based game and its expansions/DLC.
