Did you know that civ 5 remained more played that civ 6 during almost two years ?
And frankly, it is good time to finally play more of Civ6 - I kinda waiting for both expansions to be out to play more of it, but I never got around to it. I think I will make it a more regular part of my gaming diet and wait for Civ7 to get patched up.
On a flip side, I hear Civ7 multiplayer works well, which is great, as I found Civ6 to be a frustrating experience.
Civ 7 (almost) dropping below Civ 6 daily peaks within less than a week of its release is a sad state of affairs for Civ 7.
They can dev CIV VIII right now because the game mecanics are too broken to be rebuilt from scratch in order to make this a better game, a bit like Starfield.

People said the same thing about 6 at release. Cartoon graphics, shiny colors, game of smartphones... eternal cycle of video game life ^^
7 is a good game. Sure, there's room for improvement (like any civ game at release), but the core gameplay is really fun and solid. Played a dozen games so far and still a lot of fun :)
Rimworld for example is an excellent game on its own. It was expanded in sensible ways through the DLCs and modding made that game insanely awesome.
