Is the Platinum Edition enough?
I earned about 10 bucks from selling a CSGO random crop, so now around half the price of the Platinum Edition is covered for me by Steam wallet funds. Unfortunately, I am not particularly eager about shelling out on the Anthology Edition.

Would the Platinum Edition be enough for enjoyable gameplay?

It's got plenty to keep you entertained for a while. Anthology adds new game modes and new civs, but the real meat of the game is in platinum, I'd argue.

Yes, totaly enough. You'll have the core game + the 2 expansions DLCs.
So 100% of the gameplay.
You'll just miss some civilziations added later in the season pass ans widely dispensable game modes like "zombies" or "pirates"...
If you really like the game, maybe later you'll consider buying the season pass to have access to all the civs, but Platinium is already all that you need for fun.

Platinum is good and lots of fun can be had with it(Its what I started with before Anthology's DLC's were fully out). The DLC's added in Anthology(AKA The Frontier Pass) are really good though, those civs have very fun game play mechanics.

I will always recommend Anthology, but if the price really is a barrier, you can't go wrong with Platinum.

According to the latest news, if you own the Anthology Edition, you will receive the next batch of content for free. So if that interests you, I would go that route. Otherwise, Platinum gives you loads of content, and you can always pick up the rest of the content later if you enjoy playing it and money is less of a concern.
