Beginner 4x game
I know 4X games tend to have a large and lengthy learning curve for players so I was wondering if Civ 6 would be a good intro game to the genre for a beginner to learn the ins and out of it.

I also have Endless space 1/2, Endless Legend, Age of Wonder 4, Warhammer Gladius, and Stellaris if those may be better options

Most modern 4x games have multiple difficulty settings and in-game help files. That includes Civ 6.

For what it's worth the first 4x game I played was Civilization 2. It's not commercially sold anywhere and it's a bit finicky to run on a modern computer, but it's a good place to start.

Master of Orion 2 is another great choice. It's on Steam for $6 full price, and if you can wait it'll probably be on sale soon enough.

I would not recommend Stellaris for a beginner. Nope.

Endless Legend isn't really a 4x game in my opinion. They're still building Stellaris which is to say the mechanics change occasionally drastically every few months. Haven't played the others Civ vi isn't what I would call beginner friendly on the other hand the community is fairly friendly and more than willing to help.

The tutorial for Civ VI is probably not their best tutorial and you can't really save the tutorial games. I started with Civ II, but the game has changed a lot since then, and like someone else said, it probably won't work on more modern computers and you really can't play it on a console like you can Civ VI. It took me time to get used to Civ VI, and I'm still always learning new things about the game.

Any 4x game worth playing has a steep initial learning curve, The first 2 x words to work on are explore and exterminate bandits. Then exploit and expand until you are ready to exterminate the others. Or do like I usually do and convert them all to my religion.

CIv 6 on a lower difficulty would be a good option.

I would not recommend Stellaris. Paradox games in general tend to have a relatively unforgiving learning curve, sometimes even on lower difficulties, and Stellaris in particular has a few things that can unavoidably screw you over through no fault of your own.

Stellaris compared to Civ 6 is like comparing Calculus to Simple Addition. If you play Stellaris, Civ 6 should be a cake walk.
