files are corrupted

Hi everyone, I went to redownload Civ 6 and discovered that my files are corrupted. I have redownloaded it again and experienced the same issue. Can someone tell me how to fix it or am I screwed?

What system, and what's the error message?

it says that the files are damaged and cannot be opened, im running it on a mac book pro. i already validated the files and it says its fine. system is Sonoma 14.2.1

For the people experiencing this issue, Aspyr has responded with a possible fix:

1. Reinstall the Civilization VI. (dont have to reinstall) just check integrity or skip to step 3
   
   
2. Select "Play" from the Steam library.
   
   
3. After the "Verifying" prompt appears and completes, close the damaged error prompt.
   
   
4. Then, open the Mac System Settings.
   
   
5. Select "Privacy and Security".
   
   
6. Select "Security Settings"
   
   
7. In the Security Settings, you should see a prompt saying "Civilization VI was block..."
   
   
8. Click the "Open Anyway" button under this text.
   
   
9. Enter your system password if prompted.
   
   
10. Then select "Open" on the security prompt.
    
    
11. Your game should now launch

It seems this is a known issue on Mac. Spread the word if you see other Mac users posting that they're having issues.

The error message is a lie. The files are fine, and the only problem is that the security system is rejecting the installer because Aspyr's certificate expired. The instructions above should allow you to bypass the security and install the app anyway. Well, depending on which version of the OS you're running. The steps may change somewhat based on OS version.

Once you successfully install the app, that security won't bother you again. It's only the installation that's an issue.
