2k launcher update

has the update with the 2k launcher screwed up anyone's entire game? now, even if I get onto the main menu of the game, when I try and load up saves or create new games, it hardly runs and the program doesn't respond frequently , meaning I have to close the program most of the time. Ever since the update with the launcher my whole game has become unplayable

I just get random, instant crash-to-desktop.

I can run a game, if i'm even lucky enough to get that far, for about 200 turns. Then the whole game just stops and crashes. This launcher screwed my entire experience with this game, as well as many others from what I'm seeing. Its a shame too, i just started getting back into it only to have it hardly get past the opening cinematic.

OK, I hadn't put this other problem together with the timing for the 2k launcher release... but now I realize we've been getting this problem as well :(

Will not be playing this any more until it's fixed!

Just bypass the launcher. Play CIV. Profit. 5 easy steps. Here are the steps if you don't like to click links. https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/how-to-bypass-the-stupid-launcher.639325/

1. In your Steam library list, right-click on Civilization 6
2. From the pull down menu, select Properties
3. About the middle of the opened properties window, click on Set Launch Options...
4. Insert the following line as is, with the quotes and the %command%, but using your custom path:
"C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Base\Binaries\Win64Steam\CivilizationVI.exe" %command%
4.1. For DX12, replace CivilizationVI.exe with CivilizationVI_DX12.exe

5. Enjoy add-free civ start.

I have been with Civ from the start and this is the first time any problem has come up. It is really disheartening. I have lost confidence and will likely stop building this series. : (

I played on my laptop today without the launch path work-around. IDK what changed, but it ran OK w/o being plugged in. That was the only problem I was having. I know there are many more run problems yet.

I was very excited when the launcher appeared to be working on my laptop. Sadly it doesn't work on my PC. The only difference has to do with the anti-virus protections. They aren't identical but neither has changed either.

Did you check if your laptop runs the new 2K launcher when plugged in, but not when unplugged? I can't explain but it makes a difference somehow.
Anyway, that seems not an issue for the laptop now (so far).

Power saving modes of laptops can limit background processes. That could account for a difference between plugged in and not. Or it could be co-incidence.

I still cant bypass the launcher and Ive used all the " and my slightly different path...but maybe Im doing the %command% wrong? Do I have to write something else instead of command? Thanks anyways :) (Tried to look at civfanatics thread too)
