Any other 4x games like Civ worth playing?

Really loving Civ 6 but wondering if there are any other games worth playing similar to civ.

I still play Master of Orion 2. I prefer it over the modern remake and definitely recommend

2 better than 3? I would go back to try those if they were worth it. I never played.

I really like the modern version though. I used UCP mod, maybe 5x lite, but there is more that you can do with the 5x mods. I think the game is mostly find on it's own though.

If you like the modern version + ucp mod, you should try the old master of orion 2, its much better than moo3 and quite close to the modern version. (... or the other way around)

Galactic Civilizations is working on GC4 Beta early access. GC3 is a Space version of Civ 6, 4x style game.

Tropico 5 and 6 are great games, albeit slightly different from the typical Civ game play, they're still fun to play.

If not, you could always play Risk

The Anno series is another great franchise, unless of course you're only looking for war and fighting etc.

I'mma suggest to play some Magic: the Gathering in real life...preferrably some Commander with friends ;-)

Jokes aside, some more 4x games are

- Stellaris (pausable real time Sci-Fi 4x)
- Age of Wonders Planetfall (wich is kind of a mix between Civ/4x turn based grand strategy gameplay with some X-Com style gameplay for the combat thrown in there for good measure)

As for all the Amplitude games (Endless Legend, Endless Space and Humankind)...I don't know, I own most of them, but they never really grabbed me the same way Civ did. Can't even point my finger to why that is. But a lot of people like them, so I guess you could give those a shot.
