Why cant I finish building world wonder once I started it??????

Yeh, it sucks that you didn't finish it. But, you do get credit for the production so it wasn't wasted. Next time do a search to see if another civ is working on it already.

note by definition a world wonder is a one of a kind thing more or less, Note however there are pyramids every where, And at least two other structures that appear to be similar to Stonehenge. There appears to have been only one ancient great lighthouse though the colossus of Rhodes possibly even more ancient served a similar if not the same purpose.

Note Mcd's golden Arches are not technically a world wonder but a monument to mankind's willingness to eat almost anything provided it is reasonably priced and doesn't kill them instantly

Is it frustrating when another civ beats you to constructing a World Wonder? Of course it is. But that's part of the game, isn't it? If you can beat those other civs and build that wonder first, you get the bonuses from that wonder.

If you want bonuses from construction that every civilization can build, then you want "buildings," not "wonders."
