Why would they need to ''put up a fight'' against humankind?, the numbers speak for themself, its trash, and can barely get above 10k players, while Civ 6 STILL sits at around 55k players in the weekends, and even got back to 70k with the recent sale

Humankind completly failed at being the ''Civ Killer'' that so many made it out to be
I disagree. HK has a much smaller "footprint" then the Sid Meier games. So it has a smaller player-base, naturally. I have over 100h in HK, and it hasn't crashed once. Civ6 will crash 10-15 times for me, in same amount of time.
And you underline my point; the sales boost the numbers, but will not be like this for long. They are only doing it, so at some point they can present to shareholders "look how good Civ6 is, and popular too". I hope I'm wrong, but I don't expect any more patches or fixes from Firaxis. They will not even release the DLL's, so other can fix it. So 4000h of Civ6 was a bit fun, but mostly frustrating. And I wouldn't had passed 400h without the fantastic mods out there. And not ever bought any expansions or DLC's.
Love it...

The endless whining from the HK fanboys gets really tiresome. I still play 4 and 5 with frequency. Ill play 6 off and on as well.
Messaggio originale di Drenus:
Even without the boost from the recent sale, Civ 6 is still a solid 50-60k people on the weekends playing, after 5 years, Humankind is already dying, after a month, and you can argue all you want, but the numbers doesn't lie.

As for your footprint comment, well, im sorry to say, but the HK dev, nor the publisher is unknowns, so HK should have done alot better than it did, reason it failed, is simple, the game just isn't good

So your Civ is crashing, then i suggest you fix the local problems you have, instead of whining, cause again, the numbers don't lie, Civ 6 is still stable around 50k people playing every week

You played something that was ''mostly frustrating'', for 4000 hours, thanks for the laught :DE_Tasty:

Odd someone would play a game for 166 full days or 4000 hours and be mostly frustrated by it. How can anyone play something that long and don't like it?

If I find I don't like something I stop playing it. I don't whine about it. I don't cry about wanting my money back. I move on. 4000 hours and haven't moved on. Weird.

I have more games I ended up not liking than liking. It's gaming. I live with it. You move on. Pretty darn simple. I own 1000s of dollars worth of games that ended up be trash. Oh well.

i CANT BELIEVE HOW OFTEN IT CRASHES. I've been playing CIV for almost 20 years.. this is shameful how shoddy it has gotten in QA. PS: having steam launch a 2K launcher is so annoying. FIX the game - please.

But why are you surprised? They have your money, right? You will buy Civ VII at launch, right? PT Barnum wherever he may be is grinning ear-to-ear.
Messaggio originale di Lancer VI:
I've been trying to play CiV6 for the past two weeks and can't get past turn 150 - 160'ish. Crash, Crash, Crash and all on 3 different machines I've tried and mod's enabled/disabled

Remove all mods from the mods folder and delete the "mods.sqlite" file.
oh, the future?, you mean the future where more and more people quit Humankind because the foundation for the game, is just bad

alas, i know that no matter what facts i throw your way, you will continue to ramble
Humankind has some good points like graphics and that automatic upper strategic view when you zoom out, the quick loading turns also great. But many limitations on gameplay (gameplay foundation like Drenus said) turned the game not as fun as CIV 6 with all DLCS and ~100 mods atm.
I spent about 40 hours on HUMANKIND, not into it. Not sure I know how to describe why I feel like that, but CIV 6 is kind of legendary.., at least to me. I always come back.
1,130 hours on CIV 6 and counting..., jeezus

Civ7 should be coming :-)
Gamers these days love to declare games 'dead' if they go more than a week without an update.

Civ 6 is not 'dead'. Civ 6 is FINISHED. Two full expansions (Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm) and two DLC passes (Gold Edition and New Frontier) over the course of five years is plenty of content for what is (to most people) a primarily singleplayer game. With updates finished, modders can now go hog wild without worrying that an update will break something (although I really wish the .dll files would be opened up to modding).

If you're looking for some DLC-esque mods, I recommend Sukritact's Oceans, More Maritime, Sui Generis, and Steel and Thunder.

I've logged over 1300 hours in this game. It should not be rendered useless now. It's probably all of the DLC that they added the past 2 years that isn't compatible with each other.

Where did you get the idea it was a historical game? It's a sand box game with historical elements It isn't history nor is it intended to be. You want history buy Europa Universalis IV or Crusader Kings II or III, Most of the complaints I see about Civ are from people trying to make the game into something it is not and never has been.

It's not a sandbox game per se, it is a 4X game. Civ has victory objectives, has game over conditions and game ending points. By default the game has a turn limit. Also real nations and historical leaders. It's not a fantasy game at all. Well, it wasn't until these recent additions.

Neither is it a Historical game. I'm at average in current game as England/Victoria, with my science tree compared to other Civ's on game. Japan has GDR's roaming their kingdom (happen to see one as my ships roamed by), and China still throwing saddles on horses! Were in the Atomic era, and every Civ seems to have Airports, not a single plane flying around. It's not historically accurate by any means. Claiming something is a Historical game requires said game to have historically accurate details. Civ was NEVER MEANT to be a Historical game, by any means.
It's a TBS, 4k Game with various Historical contectual elements to it, which applies a multitude of in game elements to make things happen any numerous ways.

"if they go more than a week without an update." Well, it's more then 6 months without updates already.

I want a disclaimer from the company. Is Civ 7 incoming? Is Civ 6 finished as you said? If they care about us they should say clear what is going on. They seems too focused on making youtube videos instead of improving the systems implemented which could get several improvements and fixes
All I want is them to fix the bugs the introduced in the last update already.

The science bug, eureka and jadwiga text bugs. this reeks of nonchalance.

There is a new steam news piece about 30th anniversary, uploaded on 30th September. The video is just a congrats thing, but the text does say:

"So over the next few months we’re commemorating three decades of greatness from Civilization players with new challenges, fun surprises and amazing offers."

Sounds like there could be something coming, though whether it is a patch, civ 7 announcement or just more save file 'challenges' is a good question. We'll find out.
