The endless whining from the HK fanboys gets really tiresome. I still play 4 and 5 with frequency. Ill play 6 off and on as well.
Odd someone would play a game for 166 full days or 4000 hours and be mostly frustrated by it. How can anyone play something that long and don't like it?
If I find I don't like something I stop playing it. I don't whine about it. I don't cry about wanting my money back. I move on. 4000 hours and haven't moved on. Weird.
I have more games I ended up not liking than liking. It's gaming. I live with it. You move on. Pretty darn simple. I own 1000s of dollars worth of games that ended up be trash. Oh well.
But why are you surprised? They have your money, right? You will buy Civ VII at launch, right? PT Barnum wherever he may be is grinning ear-to-ear.
Remove all mods from the mods folder and delete the "mods.sqlite" file.
alas, i know that no matter what facts i throw your way, you will continue to ramble
Civ 6 is not 'dead'. Civ 6 is FINISHED. Two full expansions (Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm) and two DLC passes (Gold Edition and New Frontier) over the course of five years is plenty of content for what is (to most people) a primarily singleplayer game. With updates finished, modders can now go hog wild without worrying that an update will break something (although I really wish the .dll files would be opened up to modding).
If you're looking for some DLC-esque mods, I recommend Sukritact's Oceans, More Maritime, Sui Generis, and Steel and Thunder.

Neither is it a Historical game. I'm at average in current game as England/Victoria, with my science tree compared to other Civ's on game. Japan has GDR's roaming their kingdom (happen to see one as my ships roamed by), and China still throwing saddles on horses! Were in the Atomic era, and every Civ seems to have Airports, not a single plane flying around. It's not historically accurate by any means. Claiming something is a Historical game requires said game to have historically accurate details. Civ was NEVER MEANT to be a Historical game, by any means.
It's a TBS, 4k Game with various Historical contectual elements to it, which applies a multitude of in game elements to make things happen any numerous ways.
"if they go more than a week without an update." Well, it's more then 6 months without updates already.
I want a disclaimer from the company. Is Civ 7 incoming? Is Civ 6 finished as you said? If they care about us they should say clear what is going on. They seems too focused on making youtube videos instead of improving the systems implemented which could get several improvements and fixes
The science bug, eureka and jadwiga text bugs. this reeks of nonchalance.
There is a new steam news piece about 30th anniversary, uploaded on 30th September. The video is just a congrats thing, but the text does say:
"So over the next few months we’re commemorating three decades of greatness from Civilization players with new challenges, fun surprises and amazing offers."
Sounds like there could be something coming, though whether it is a patch, civ 7 announcement or just more save file 'challenges' is a good question. We'll find out.
