What happens if I capture a capital city that is building a wonder I want to build elsewhere
So, I'm playing a multiplayer game, and I noticed another player started building a wonder I was hoping to also build (oxford university) .

Now, I'm in a position where I could attack them and most likely take the city over before they finish, but I was wondering what happens to that wonder if I do. The city that started building it is a capital city, so razing the city to clear the early stages of it won't be an option.

1. If I take over the city, will the wonder remain as in-progress, thus blocking me from starting it in any other of my cities?

2. If I start building said wonder in one of my other cities first and then take over this one - will both cities then have it underway?

3. I don't actually have the tech yet for said wonder - I need to get Steel first to secure my cities. What happens if I capture the city, gain the half-completed wonder and not even knowing "what it is"?

It's all hypothetical anyway of course, assuming I could even take the city, but it's really making me curious.

Anyone knows what my options are, game mechanics wise?

My experience suggest the incomplete wonders in a captured city go away. Definitely so if you raze the city. you can also refuse to work on it in that city and it will go away when you build it elsewhere. With completed wonders you are pretty well screwed unless you conquer the civ that built them/

Unfinished building, including wonders disappear.

Ah, that's great - so I can then decide to build it in another city.

Thanks!
