2K launcher apparently not installing

wondering if anyone else had this problem; i bought it from Steam, installed it....gathering storm only...ok. uninstalled, re-installed...gathering storm only. uninstalled using Revo, re-installed, all DLC are there...finally! can't launch...missing executable, "LauncherPatcher". so far i've done literally every suggestion i could find on google, and it's done absolutely nothing. even tried re-installing on a different drive...nothing. it looks like the 2k launcher isn't even installing with the game.

I'm having the same problem. Right now, I'm trying to figure out how to skip the freaking launcher.

I had the game on Epic and even though the launcher was an annoyance, the game still ran just fine. (had no dlc and it drove me nuts back then. Now after watching my brother play, I'm trying again, especially after getting the whole thing for 22 bucks)

I dunno why it's erroring right now, and trying to code my way past the launcher right now sucks. Everyone just says "use your path" then the line they put down, every time I try it says C program can't be found. So that's my fun time right now.

the changing path thing doesn't work for me, nor does using the old launcher. i've scoured google and just keep getting the same error message. steam support said to do try what i literally told them in my message that i tried, so that's real helpful...

So we're pretty much all in agreement that we've got an expensive game for cheap because it's broken. yay... going to go back to youtube to see if I can find another person tutorialing the method. It's more annoying now because the properties menu is 'updated' so now I'm not sure if I'm following the method or if I'm screwing up.

the weird part is, when it didn't install the DLC, the launcher worked. then when New Frontier installed, the launcher stopped working. i'm wondering if it's because i used Revo to fully uninstall it after the second install. but i still feel like the launcher should have been installed with the game

Steam support literally said we don't know, and that's it. wow...unreal. does ANYONE know what's up with this?? why isn't the launcher installing?

Do you have an AV or somesuch that could be blocking the installation?

i did contact them as well, still waiting for a reply. i don't use AV, just windows defender, and it didn't touch it. i feel like that would have been an issue from the start, but, like i said, the launcher worked before, but the DLC wasn't there, and then the roles switched.

completely uninstalled steam, reinstalled it along with civ 6, same error.

I bought the key off of Greenman Gaming, so I'm arguing with them about a refund because Steam won't refund it, and 2K says they have no idea how long it will be before I hear from them. Awesome....paid for a broken product and people want to keep my money.

That is because since the path has spaces in it you must put it in double quotes (e.g.
"C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Base\Binaries\Win64Steam\CivilizationVI.exe" %command%)

you will need to use the path that the game is installed on your computer though

i personally did that multiple times, and it didn't do anything. still got the error saying that the 2K launcher is missing.

Support literally said we can't help you then closed the ticket. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ brutal. i'm done with Steam after this. you pay them money for a product that doesn't work, and they refuse to help. brutal.

Problems with the 2k launcher cannot be fixed by Steam support.

Aside: the filepath upthread matches the location to which you installed Civilization VI?
