How exactly do i enhance a religion
It's clear there are 2 empty slots in the religion to be enhanced. but prophets can no longer be created. is there a unit or a button that allows me to enhance my existing religion with 2 more features?

Once you reach the Theology civic and build a temple in one of your religious cities, you can buy Apostles. Apostles can spread religion like slightly more powerful missionaries, they can attack other religious units, and they get a free promotion that can enhance them in various ways. All for much more faith than a missionary costs, naturally.

And finally, there are two special actions an Apostle can take to enhance your religion. These are only available if you're the religion's founder, they require at least three spread charges, and they consume the apostle even if it had more than three charges.
- Evangelize. This lets you select a new belief, up to the limit of four. So it's available twice.
- Launch Inquisition. This lets you purchase inquisitors in religious cities with temples; they're good at fighting for your religion in home territory, and greatly reduce the pressure of other religions when they use their spread charges. Obviously, you can only do this once.

Incidentally, there's a way to get an apostle before Theology. If you build Stonehenge after already founding a religion, it grants an apostle for that religion instead of a Great Prophet.

I would just have said that it is one of the actions an apostle can do.

The Evangelize Belief option on Apostles gives you the option of choosing a belief to fill those other 2 slots. You can make Apostles starting at 400 religion and this amount increases with each new Apostle you create, or you can create an Apostle with Stonehenge if you already have an established religion.

After creating an Apostle, upon using the first option tab "Evangelize Belief" the main window for choosing religious beliefs will open up. As long as the Apostle has at least 3 remaining charges, and is located within friendly territory (yes this includes City States if you are Suzerain). Most Apostles without bonuses begin with at least 4 charges, if memory serves me correctly, so use up all the Apostle's charges until there is only 3 left.

Apostles start with three charges before any bonuses. If they have more, it's because you have something boosting them - a mosque building, the Hagia Sophia wonder, an Exodus of the Evangelists golden age, or one of the extra charge promotions.

Thank you for this correction. My memory obviously did not serve me will in this instance. It is my habit when playing Civ IV, to immediately build Stonehenge, then to choose Mosque as my religious district building, thus my Apostles begin with 4 charges. I also ensure I am the first to build Hagia Sophia. I rarely if ever go for a Religious Victory, but I do prefer to enhance my faith to the point where none of my opponents can win through religion.
