However, as with other societies, this chance will get slightly smaller with every other civilization that joins this society (meaning "popular" societies will be less likely to send you an invitation)."
This isn't true, unless it changed in the last patch. I chose Owls of Minerva and later got a message along the lines of 'voidsingers try to recruit you but too late realise you are with us, the Owls reward your loyalty', and a governor promotion.
(I only use one mod, historic speed, which shouldn't affect secret societies and doesn't seem to have even been updated since that mode was introduced. I have GS)
