Don't want to accept new terms and conditions and continue playing the game
How do I continue playing the game without accepting the new terms and conditions?

I recall accepting terms and conditions when I first purchased the game. I am not happy that they want me to sign a new agreement after I already upheld my end of the purchase.
What is wrong with these companies today? How are they getting away with this nonsense? What scam are they trying to pull? This is exactly why I was hesitant to use online games in the first place. If I don't own a physical copy of a game, then I don't own that game!

Bypass the 2k launcher.

Same problem here and their only way to opt out of the arbitration clause is to send certified physical mail. I'm filing a BBB and FTC complaint.

Bypass the 2k launcher.
Takes just a minute or so and is a permanent solution (no mod!!!)

If you bypass the launcher, you'll save time and you'll avoid bugs, but you automatically accept terms and conditions as long as you continue tu use the software.

I don't play online, so I have blocked the game .exe in my firewall.

You still accept terms and conditions. Even if you "technically" prevent them from collecting some datas, you still agree to all the stuff about legal actions and so on. There's no legal way to decline and continue to use the software. If you play, you agree.

A lot of people in fact do other things besides using the PC for steam.

Did I say other wise? Point I am making here is that all of us need to start considering the possibility of segregating every thing we do on line to the extent we can.

I block all non-essential traffic in the firewall and use some adblock lists, same goes for my smartphone. There is not much more an average user can do. It's also a question of comfort vs data security.

I have no plans to buy anything from this goose-stepping outfit or anyone related by business.I should NOT have to arbitrarily agree to anything subsequent to my purchase(s). I have ZERO confidence of not being robbed again. As long as Civ 6 is held hostage Civ7 is DOA.

It doesn't matter if the agreement is completely benevolent. Asking to change it, seven and a half years after release, and then prevent you accessing something you paid for if you don't agree, is corrupt as hell.
It's the principle of the thing.
