Hi. I have a laptop with some 25 gigs free. I keep reading that the base game for Civ6 is just 3 gigs large, although some places online suggest that I may need to sacrifice as much as 12 gigs to the game. I bought the premium edition (because my brother whom i want to play with has a mac and that's the only one he could get), but when trying to install it, Steam tells me i need 30+ gigs free. Is there no way to tell it to install just the base game, and not a huge 30 gig behemoth?

Sorry, grumpy user here who can remember Civ2 being less than 20 megs...

My current install is 26GB, but that's counting mods, screenshots, and save files for years worth of play. Installer may demand more while installing, but the final install isn't that big.

I can see in my DLC list Gathering Storm alone is 3.3 GB. Maybe that's the number you keep reading? I'm on a Mac, though.

My total is about 25.6 GB for all the Game + 2 expansions + other DLC. There's a separate folder for settings/saves not included in that, but its less than 200 Mb (without the saves), most of which is Cache. Also this doesn't include mods.

Just occurred to me, maybe you could uncheck some of the DLC in the manager before installing. I recommend keeping the 2 expansions though.

With all DLC installed, it's 26,3 GB on my HD.
