Battle of Adua Achievement

Anyone here that already completed that achievement? Do I need to play on continet map in order to do this? I tried on Earth map and conquered another city with an infantery unit in it but no achievement? Any hints?

Civ continents don't necessarily mean different islands for example. Use filter to see where continent starts and end. Maybe???

Yeah I know. As I said I played on Earth real start locations. I played vs 1 Ai on Europe continent (Dutch). It did not trigger. Is there a special Unit? Do I need to kill the Unit while capturing the city? Or do I need to kill the Unit on a different continent or on my continent? I tried all. Achievement did not trigger. But maybe I missed out on something

Not done it, but it sounds like the infantry unit must not be on its own home continent.
So in your example using an earth map, defeat a dutch infantry unit in Africa for example.

Wierdly I tried this with greece and It was on the edge of my continent (bit still on int) but did not trigger. I may try again though

Honestly, I think I plan on doing this one in a hot seat game. Probably the simplest way to arrange it.

For me it worked under the following conditions:
-My capitol was on continent A and from the AI on continent B
-Infantry unit was directly in his city (it really has to be THE Infantrie unit, not any melee or what ever unit)
-Bombed the city down to no defense
-And caputered the city with the Oromo cavalry what also killed the infantrie unit stationed in that city

Yeah I figured that might be the case. I'm just hoping the AI actually gets to the point of building infantry in my current game. Otherwise, yeah, hot seat, I find it odd that I've not thought of that option for various achieves in the past now.

Does it work for things like V's attack a legion from a mountain with a carthaginian unit? Things like that are really hard to happen on against AI. Cheers.

Just did it in Hot-Seat. Its probably the best way to do it. I could hardly figure an Ai buildt that Unit and than have it in their capitol :D

I started in renaissance with 2 player on earth in hotseat. I choosed Greece as second player.
