I ranked up a Secret Society governor to the max and I didnt get the achievement.
I did get The Lion of Judah and This Blood is the Life) cca. two hours ago. But I had to reload the save and achieve the victory again, and rank up the secret society governor again (they did not unlock earlier in the afternoon, when I finished the Ethiopian game for the first time). And yes, there was no game update in between for me, either.
I also got Battle of Adwa in separate game afterwards.
(From other thread)
I have a save where I defeat an enemy swordsman with an Oromo Cavalry on their continent, which is different to the one where my capital is; but it's not unlocking even if I restart Steam and try again after reloading.
Thank you!
I got the Battle of Adwa by killing the Infantry unit from a foreign continent with Oromo Cavalry on its home continent (i.e., Infantry had capital on continent B, Oromo Cavalry had capital on continent A, and battle took place on continent A). This seems to be in line with the actual battle of Adwa, too, where Ethiopians defeated the invaders... But it might work the other way around, too.
However, the killed "infantry" unit must actually be Infantry, i.e., the Modern-era melee unit that upgrades from a Musketman (for example, killing a Swordsman or a Musketman with Oromo Cavalry did not trigger it).
Thank you! That last point could be what I was missing - for some reason I forgot that "Infantry" was the name of a unit, so assumed any melee-based unit would do, such as a Swordsman. I'll give this another go now I know that.
Edit - Ivelios, I was able to unlock the society-related achievements yesterday, and the one for winning as Ethiopia, so looks like they're working again.
