There is an achievement to capture settler using a Longship, but when get close to the barbarian settler (previously I let him to be captured by barbarian), I can't capture it. Why it is unavaliable?
You don't try to move the Longship onto land. The settler cannot be on the same tile as a military unit, so it won't let you capture it if it is in an escort formation.
If it's on its own on land nextto your longship, you click the "Raid" button, then you click to confirm the target. Also, you cannot coastally raid with naval melee units unless you are playing as Harald Hardrada (Konge).
So stealing settlers from barbs is difficult as they quickly retreat civilian units in a camp. You would need to kill the military units on the tile somehow in order to be able to perform a coastal raid with the unit.
