The smaller DLC packs provide fun scenarios and rule changes, but I tend to turn them off and just go straight "Gathering Storm" ruleset with no additions when I want a good, challenging game. (Deity level still kicks my butt in at least nine out of ten games...)
That said the leader pass does give you a lot of fun leaders to play with.
There's no guarantee one way or the other. The Leader Pass came out of basically nowhere.
I wouldn't recommend anyone buy the Leader Pass. It is free for everyone that owns all other content.
I decided to just get Gathering Storm.
Now let's see how this goes:)
