Still worth buying?

I want to try the game but I have some doubts.

It's been out for a long time, it's been announced that civ 7 is in the works, and honestly I have no idea of how the multiplayer is, if it's possible to play in casual lobbies without having to organize matches with others in discord or something.

Not just this, but I've heard that single player AI is very bad, and apparently it's not that great without the DLCs
Is the game still worth buying? and if so, which DLCs should I buy to have a better experience?

It's a solid, enjoyable, bug-free game at this point. Well worth playing.

The AI's ability to perform large-scale warfare is extremely limited. So yeah, experienced human players can pretty much beat the AI in a military conflict even when far behind in numbers and tech.

But the rest of the game is still challenging. And you can generally just ignore warfare if you want (I do).

I play with the expansions (Rise & Fall, Gathering Storm) and pretty much nothing else. I'll load up a DLC if I feel in the mood for it, but the base game (plus expansions) is plenty fun for my tastes.

Rumors abound, Some one some where said it appears that they are working on something big right now, whether that is retooling beyond earth, or civ 7 now that they have finished the marvel stuff I don't know but it is what it is.

While some say yes I am saying no. the more recent patches seem to have caused a number of problems with how well the game runs.

I think Civ 6 would continue to get more leaders and content if it was going to be the final Civ game. It seems like easy money.

MultiPlayer works just fine for myself and my regular gaming partners.

No issues with game play in MultiPlayer even with some use of Mods.

The issue for most is how do I find a reliable gamer(s) to play with not with actually playing the game without problems.

You need to solve that through your friends or online gaming friends. Find them and keep the good ones in your Friends List in Steam and Civ VI.
