macOS: Cannot Start Civ VI (App is damaged and can't be opened)

To fix this problem go to "System Settings" - "Privacy & Security", scroll down until you see the message that says "Civilization VI was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer" and then press "Open Anyway".

Restart the game and it should open as normal.

As of January 10, 2023 Aspyr has posted an update that solves this issue. It worked for me. I did delete the game, then deleted all the files from the Library on my Mac, then reinstall the game and it started up without issue. Lost the game I was playing but time to start a new one.
