Move Saves from PC to Cloud? Possible? How? Move from Cloud to PC? Same questions.
I have been saving civ games on pc. Every time I install new version, I can't access them?
Does anyone know how to do that?
And, if I change to saving online, will I then be able to get saved games with the new software?
And can I move old pc saves online, so that I might access them?
I thank any/all for help.

I run into this. Basic situation is that the particulars for the game that you saved have to cooperate with what the computer is using as the program for continuing moves. If not, the comp may try to run it but lose data like certain units that come and go depending on the version. Most times it just won't handle it at all.
Case in point are Starting Configurations (Pool 1/2) that don't list the newer Leaders so you have to remake the Config because the available list has changed. Comp just won't play that.

This game doesn't use the Steam Cloud, so you've to backup your saves manually, when you move to a new PC or are reinstalling Windows or whatever you're trying to do.

If you want to have it online, try google drive or dropbox. They're even small enough for Discord, if you want to store your stuff there.

Bit of a pain, but yes. Make sure you are logged into your My2K account in the game. Then for every game:
-Load the save game.
-Click the menu to save the game
-Click the checkbox next to "multi platform cloud"
-Enter a name and click Save

Note that the check box for using the cloud NEVER stays checked, you always have to check it again when going into the menu.
