Will there be an in game benchmark tool?

There never has been one that I'm aware of.
I mean, if you're wanting the application to determine its optimal settings based on your specs, Civ V did at least default itself to the settings that met that criteria.

Would be cool though. It could show off the modern api vs old junk and async vs emulate.

Actually Civ5 has a builtin benchmark tool.
Would be cool to see that again with Civ6.

For people wanting to try the civ5 benchmark, there is a Word document in your Civ5 installation folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V <-- default path) that is named: Civilization 5 Benchmark modes.doc

Read that to try and use the benchmark tool.
