I agree also $80 for a new game for a PC game, I am very leary.
Of course, people might not call me a die hard Civilizations fan. I'm not that good at games that are strategy, but I still like to play. I play Civ 5 every now and then, but it just seems to take so much longer to finish a game than Civ Rev. I also liked how the units worked better in Civ Rev.
As for the price, I never pay full price for a game. I'll wait a bit until it comes down or until it goes on sale. I have too many other games to play to pay that much for a game. $60 - $80 buys a lot of games on sale on Steam and at Gamestop. I can be patient.
However, my husband, who is a die hard fan, can't. He's all ready talking about preordering...
They did. Combining 3 units into one is a Civ Rev tactic. It's nothing new. I am wondering if we are going to get the childish Leaders to come into the game as well.
espionage
religion
culture great works
tourism and archeology
trade routes
bombing of tile infrastructures and buildings
diplomacy that changes by era
night and day cycle
support units (like battering ram for warriors)
supposedly more sensible leaders ( I hate the Civ Rev bullies)
Civ Rev was a "casual" version of the Civ series. The main series is a lot more complex than that. If you haven't played 5 I recommend getting it while it's on sale. 6 won't be the same, but you'll get an idea of how different the main series is from Rev
Trolling, or stupid? And which is worse?
It will be if anything MORE graphically demanding, with extra zoom in and out, more animations, day and night cycle, etc. etc.
Have you even read about the features of the game? If you know smartphone games that are as feature rich and deep, please name some, I want to play!
No, they didn't. Those images have a resolution of 3000 x 1688. A smartphone version with the full Civilization feature set and workings would be incredibly slow.
That is BULL and you know it. Civ IV didn't have that. Civ V definently didn't have it. You really expecting that Civ VI is going to have religion, espoinage, cultrue, and great works? That is what the expansions are for.
So no, Civ VI will not have those. After all what do you think $80 is going to get you? :P
Sorry Sam, I respect you very much, but what devs say espically from Firaxis, they really can't be trusted. They say one thing and do another. One of those burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice shame on me.
Firaxis has a history of fudging the truth. Until I see it in game play, I am expecting a half arsed gamed and a very buggy release. I hope I am wrong, I really do, but they have to prove history wrong, I don't have to believe what they say. After all thier actions speak for themselves.
So time will tell if you are correct or not. I will keep an open mind because I respect your opinion, and will be hopeful.
