Gandhi's Nukes
Has anyone ever actually been nuked by Gandhi? I've probably spent 350-400 hours playing Civ and have NEVER EVER see Gandhi betray his friends and nuke them. I'm begining to wonder if it actually happens or if its a joke that's been around for so long that its considered a fact.

Well, in the first Civ game, it was a matter of Gandhi's agression stat suffering an underflow error and being locked at 255. In Civ V, it was an intentional change, but he is not an agressive warmonger. In fact, IIRC, he has the lowest agression stat of all, and is extremely unlikely to backstab. What was changed was his likelihood to build and use nukes, which was locked at 12 out of 10.

In other words, Gandhi in Civ V won't start an unprovoked war and won't backstab his friends, but if you start a war with him, he'll nuke you without question. As long as you play peacefully, you have a good chance of never encountering nukelord Gandhi.

I've caught him, several times, sneaking multiple armadas with loaded nuclear subs within strike range of my cities. It's real. It's not an urban legend.
I have never felt the wrath of Gandhi, i dont want too
three times, once in a co-op game with a friend, blew him to kingdom come, second time was my diety level game; he oblitarated germany for touching him, third time was a prince game where i tricked him into going to war agaisnt Songhai

... Rome can build nukes too, just like every other civ?

Anyway, never had a nuking Ghandi myself. Dude usually seems to be in a corner befriending everybody and playing ♥♥♥♥♥♥, until someone betrays him and he's either eliminated or made into a non-threat for the rest of the game.

He might be better on high AI levels, but I never play anything above... King, I think? The one where the AI gets 'small' bonusses. I really hate the blatant cheating on higher difficulties.
