MacOS error 4294956486 (or similar)

With a recent update on MacOS, people are seeing errors when trying to run Civ6.
Please submit a ticket to Aspyr Support.

CIV 6 won't launch after installing new Leader Pass - (MacOS)

After installing new free DLC, the game won't launch. I'm getting "The application can't be opened" mac error, and Steam 4294956486 error.

I tried troubleshooting by going to "/Desktop/Sid Meier's Civilization VI.app/Contents/MacOS" but there is only run.sh file

Im getting the same error. Everything was running perfectly until I purchased the latest DLC

Same, I tried validating game files, what a bust DLC.

Mine updated by itself and now I get this exact error. everything worked perfect before.

Ditto. I reported this earlier. Would be nice to get an eta on the playability of the game again.

Was playing this morning. Came back this afternoon and got this error. Anyone find a fix yet?

Found another thread claiming that uninstalling and reinstalling worked for that person. Not the time sump I wanted, but am trying this now.

Uninstall and reinstall did NOT work for me.

Yeah im facing the same issue, it loads fine, but then im hit with a user agreement thing that i cannot get past. it is super annoying right now and uninstalling it doesnt help. i even tried the base game, without expansions and still doesnt work

I am getting the same issue The application “Civilization VI” can’t be opened. This was right after I bought the Leader Pass. I'm on MacOS

Ok. Is this topic about the new pass for Macs? If yes, it is not free for you. It is only free for PC Windows. So if you got anything for free, it would have been Julius Caesar, game update, and launcher update.
