Caesar's hands and arms are absolutely massive.
Unlikely he will be changed before release, but the way he's designed makes him stick out compared to a lot of the other leaders, his proportions are cartoony, even for Civ 6's standards. His arms are as big as his head and his hands are even bigger.

Seriously, look at him and pictures of Trajan and Alexander. He looks like he's unofficial content or something.

No compare him to Gilgamesh or Hadrada. Interestingly enough (or not) the average height in Ceasars day around the Mediterranean world wasn't much above five feet, No wonder the Ancient Israelite's thought Goliath of Gath. who based on the descriptive text in the Bible, was a shade north of 6 and a half feet was a giant.

I looked at Gilgamesh immediately after posting this. He looks like he has Gilgamesh's arms and hands while having a smaller body and head.

TBH he looks too realistic, he looks like a retextured Civ 5 model with resized hands.

Better a leader with big hands than one with small hands.

All the better to crush his opponents like The Hulk.

I like him.
He's way better than Steam friends who inexplicably turn against you.

Yeah, I think his face looks really good. I was wondering why it was sticking out to me so much. Maybe he'll look better when in motion, but his hands are seriously really big. As I recall, the devs do sometimes go back and touch up their models and stuff so there's still hope his hands get tweaked a bit.

Have you not seen how they massacred Gandhi, the main character of the Civilization franchise?

There's a lot about the characters that could be talked about, and I'm all for every character looking good.

The only way that the characters will look realistic is for them to use real pictures of the leaders which is not possible. Also leaders before drawing and photography will be hard to represent correctly since you are only going by descriptions of them.

For Example: In game, Cleopatra looks somewhat beautiful, but in reality she was not beautiful.

I have no idea why they did this with Julius Caesar. His appearance is well known actually from numerous Roman statues of him which have been preserved over the years. He was a smaller man, not a big brutish man. He was a general and commander whose strength was in his mind and in his ruthlessness. He had narrow, but masculine facial features, not the dwarf-like bulbous nose he was given. He also had a receding hairline and prominent forehead with close-cropped hair in the style of the Roman centurion. He looked nothing like what is shown here.

A simple search on YouTube for "what did Julius Caesar look like" would have yielded a much better result.

Julius Caesar was known for his hulk like hands that could crush a man's head without effort. This was his method of commanding his troops, that he'll do the hulk thing if they don't sort their crap out and go capture some cities. Few would question his leadership, as they would inevitably end up being crushed by these massive hands. When Julius Caesar captured a city he went to the first person with 200 gold and did the hand crushing gesture that had got him this far. Later, after ageing 1000 years, but doing the head crushing technique on the grim reaper himself, the invention of steel allowed him to augment his hands with even more menacing steel gauntlets. By then the interest rate had allowed for the existence of people with 500 gold. Also the barbarian camps had the same. Julius Caesar used this to his advantage.
