I just hope the game is optimized.

I exceed the recommended specs for Civ5 yet end game (medium map , 6 Civs , 12 city states) would grind to a practical halt end game.

Turn times ought to be a product of CPU, but in Civ5 it's like it's trying to render all the animations you can't see or something, late game - if you switch to strategic view, it goes much quicker.

Where do i check all my specs so i can link them here so you guys can check em out, system things isn't my thing when it comes to computers tbh. Thanks for helping.

I know here are some decent work arounds in Civ 5 for turn times.

I used to remove movement animations for the AI which drastically reduce the time.

I know that Civ 5 was designed so the AI decisions were bottle necked and didn't utilize multithread processors which really hindered large maps and plenty of Civs.
Damn near crippling to wait a full minute between turns.

My hope is that this new engine they have built for Civ 6 had those situations in mind and can offer significantly less turn wait times compared to Civ 5

If you open dxdiag, save the results to a text file, paste that file to pastebin, and paste the link to pastebin here, that's the quickest way to do it.

I hope so too, but long late-game turn times seem to be rather par for the course in 4X games - though to a variable extent between games, of course.

Looks like it won't refuse to run, but the integrated GPU will be a tad underpowered. I'm not sure how well it will run for you, and you'll certainly want the graphics settings turned down if I'm any judge.

Are my specs good enough to play the minimum?
My computer isn't the best and struggles to play many games but i can not tell very well if my computer can play the minimm of civilization 6. My specs are as follows:
AMD A4-6210 APU
with Radeon R3 graphics
These are the parts i am not sure if they'll play. Everything else should work fine but i'd like to know if it will run.
Thank you for your help.

I don't think it will refuse to run, but that integrated GPU is very very weak for the game.

Intel(R)HD 4000? I know everything els is fine, just a bit concerned about the integrated graphics card. Civ V ran fine on mid levels so I'll guess VI will on low levels which I'm fine with but wanted some opinions

It's outside of the minimum requirements, but I'm pretty sure it has the required APIs. If so, it probably won't refuse to run, but it may not run very well.

The game is clearly much more graphically demanding than Civ5.

Is a Core 2 Duo E8400 at 3.9GHz enough to meet the minimum?
Fiach Dubh Sep 24, 2016 @ 4:41pm
Hello SamBC; I was wondering if you could tell me how well this would run Civ VI? I am planning to upgrade soon; but until then I want to at least know if my computer can handle it. Also, does the 3.5 GHz instead of 2.5 help more even though it isn't an i5; or because of how it processes differently it wouldn't matter?

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-4150 @ 3.5GHz
GPU: NIVIDA GTX 745 OEM (4GB VRAM)
RAM: 6GB DDR3
Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Display: 1920x1080

Thank you for your time!
