Physical copy
Hey. Does anyone know how the physical copy works? I believe it's activated through steam.

Reason for asking this is I pulled the disc drive from my main computer a while back and did not put it back in (less wires). If I did get the physical copy I'd have to even reinstall the dvd drive or use another computer to activate the copy before installing it on my main rig.

So, would the physical copy require the CD for installation after activating? I'm assuming it wouldn't after activating but I haven't used physical media for computer software in a long time.

Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about it. Pretty sure all games that come with a steam key, as this one does, can be installed direct from Steam. I'd be pretty shocked if this wasn't the case for Civ 6.

Yes, it is confirmed that all physical copies come with a steam code in the box.

Some boxed PC games only come with a download code, lately. I have both Civ V and Beyond Earth retail boxed versions and they had the disks and a download code. The disk only allowed me to install the main game files faster off of disk, i could have just downloaded them. This game will probably be the same?

Well, I kind of wanted a physical copy for this but I just got it on GmG instead. A little cheaper, and I won't have to worry about storing the box once I got tired of looking at it.

I haven't bought a physical PC game in 10 years or so. Wasn't sure how it was handled now. Good to know though.

Thanks.
