Auto explore Scout??
Hi all.
Bit new to this, so be nice ;)
Ive noticed that most of my melee units can auot explore right from the beginning but for some reason my scouts (who i would have thought MUST be able to auto expore!)..cant ??
Ive seen a you tube video and to command it is exactly the same as any other unit..Press small plus icon and do it through there. But for some reason this doesnt seem to exist in my game. Yes i can pet my dog but cant auto explore ??
Is there a technology i need to be able to do this ? If not then how do i do it ???
Thanks for any tips ;-)

By default it's the hotkey 'E'.
What can happen though, if there is danger nearby, you cannot start auto-exploring.

A word of advice Don't automate anything. You can beat the game 1 against 20 to 40 because the AI is to put it mildly, incompetent and it is generally idiotic when it comes to military decision making. In particular with scouts the first inkling you get that your scout is in trouble is a brief notification of its death and what killed it.

Are you playing with mods?
Are there enemy units nearby?

In my experience, Scouts will not have the option to Automate if:
1) There is danger nearby and the Scout could be killed/injured.
2) There is a Tribal Village nearby.
3) They have reached a point on the map at which they do not have Open Borders.
4) They are eligible for a Promotion.
There may be other reasons, these are just the one's I've seen.
Hover over the Automate button, it should tell you why the Scout can't move.
A screenshot of the scenario with the pop-up for the Automate button showing would help in determining your issue.
Have you recently added any mods? If so try deactivating them and try again.
