Lost my suzerainty bonus. Why?
I'm allied with Scythia in order to wage war on Japan, but they have sieged Buenos Aires (of which I am Suzerain). I've suddenly lost the bonus which makes bonus items amenities and have revolution occuring. Is this usual?
Do bonuses stop if a city-state is sieged?
Have I got this worked out correctly?
So many questions.

That's correct. There is an option to liberate the city-state when you go recapturing it and get your bonus back.
maybe another player sent buenos aires an envoy and bumped up the requirement for suzerain? if not that, i could imagine a mechanic that blocks resources from city states while seiged would make sense (historically i would assume a seiged city wouldnt have the ability to trade their goods to anyone) but i haven't heard of this being in the game

Gotta be careful with levying too. You lose suzerainty and you lose the levies.

Thanks for the responses, but I think it's because I was at war. I made peace and amenities rose again even though Buenos Aires is still under siege.
Edit: And now I've lost the amenities again because Scythis conquered Buenos Aires and I had no way of stopping them :(
Be nice if this was explained better somewhere.

Didn't you lose amenities because of war weariness? Your people are less content when at war I think.

Yup I think that's right, but I don't get that an ally would attack my vassal state.

There are many flaws in diplomacy at the time I think. I still don't understand why my long term ally, Roosevelt, suddenly decided to amass a surprisingly large amount of troops near my borders and waited patiently until the Alliance wore off before declaring a surprise war. It was so obvious that even though I was perplexed at this move I did prepare a welcome commitee and quickly seized control of 5 capitals in less than 4 turns in a blietkrieg style move. I won.
