Aspyr is honored to announce the release of Civilization VI Mac!!! This is a thread for all the Apple heads out there. We will do our best to keep the thread updated with the latest information, as well as ongoing Mac details of this amazing game.

First and foremost, lets go over the officially supported system requirements:

Operating System: OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) and MacOS 10.12 (Sierra)
CPU Processor: Intel Core i5 (4 cores)
CPU Speed: 2.7 GHz
Memory: 6 GB
Hard Disk Space: 15 GB
Video Card (ATI): Radeon 6970M
Video Card (NVIDIA): GeForce 775M
Video Card (Intel): Iris Pro
Video Memory (VRam): 1 GB
Peripherals: Macintosh mouse and keyboard, Steam Controller (optional)

Its important to note that our minimum system requirements are based on a comprehensive knowledge of performance throughout the game. In short, we believe the above requirements are enough horsepower to fuel late game and large maps at acceptable frame rates, and we've set the default settings on every Mac for optimal performance within the game itself. Know that turning up any of the default settings will likely result in decreased performance.

We want to give a special shoutout to the fine folks at Firaxis and especially our friends at 2K QA. Without a great deal of cooperation and support from these partners, the Mac release near the Windows release is impossible.

Yes indeed, on my M2 MBA, running outside, under 27°C there... The Gathering Storm AI benchmark gives me an average of 55 sec/turn (I got an average of 224 sec/turn before, in a cooler environment!)

Roughly a 75% speed boost.

Seit dem letzten Update startet Civ6 nicht mehr ("Beim Starten von Spielkonfiguration nicht verfügbar ist ein Fehler aufgetreten."). Deinstallation, Löschen aller Spieldaten und Neuinstallation ist das Resultat dasselbe! Irgendwelche Lösungen?

I've got the same problem. Everything is updated, and I end up crashing about five minutes in. I've uninstalled, redownloaded, closed out Steam, restarted my Mac, made sure my Mac was running most recent update... and still it crashes. Does anyone know if there's a fix or do we just have to wait for a fix to be issued?

I'm getting "disk write error" on my iMac via Steam. What's up with that?

Updated, and it says "launching", "starting" on the left, and then nothing happens anymore. No error messages. I've found a fix. Go to the steam_appid.txt in your steam folder, and copy it into /Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Sid\ Meier\'s\ Civilization\ {LENKE FJERNET}VI/Civ6.app/Contents/MacOS/ . Then start the game by calling /Users/YOURFOLDER/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Sid\ Meier\'s\ Civilization\ {LENKE FJERNET}VI/Civ6.app/Contents/MacOS/Civ6_Exe_Child /Users/YOURFOLDER/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Sid\ Meier\'s\ Civilization\ {LENKE FJERNET}VI/Civ6.app/Contents/MacOS/steam_appid.txt

Full Apple Silicon nativ support! I love you Aspyr! Thank you very much. I am also looking forward to buy Civ 7 on day one if it has fully nativ apple silicon support too. :)

I purchased, downloaded and installed Civ VI. I went over issue with corrupted file (MAC OS settings and file integrity check). But when I run the game now, I see VI icon, in task bar, but nothing is running, no window opens. I can just kill the app. Any suggestion? Thanks.
