yes, me too. Looking at other posts, there is an issue with 'asprey" whoever they are....sounds bad to me.
This happened to me before with the same computer. In my case, two things caused this: a mod conflicting with the game or having borderless fullscreen (or whatever it is called) enabled in the launch screen. Tinker with those, Hope this helps.
Half the time I would go full screen in the past the main menu wouldn't pop up, so I would also make sure to click the "Settings" tab on the right of the launcher and choose Windowed.
However, recently the launcher is now zoomed in... so I can't even see that settings tab, and the main menu isn't popping up in full screen AT ALL. I have re-installed the game already, no idea why the launcher is literally zoomed in by like 15%. Any ideas?
I also can't access the full screen/window option, perhaps because of this same zooming issue.
As the tiles implies im facing a tsunami of desyncs while playing civ 6 multiplayer. I just received my new M1 Macbook Pro. There are 2 patterns that i could'v identify so far, as follows:
Game starts without any problems, after everybody in the lobby checks for the same mod version, and no 0ms pings. Turn 1 passes without problem. Turn 2 desyncs and from here on every 2 turns i get a desync
The same as point 1. but after 2-3 desyncs everything runs ok for another 20-30 turns when the desyncs return.
Important mentions:
I am playing on CPL where there are 3 mods mandatory: BBS, BBG and MPH (the 3 most popular mods)
What i tried:
Installed/Reinstalled mods
Reinstall game
Different resolutions and in-game settings
Boost fans for maximum performance (for me it is clear that this desync issue has nothing to do with a lack of performance)
Change autosave interval to 10 turns instead of 1
I tried to find an event logs for Civ 6 but there was nothing to be found so far. Maybe somebody can guide me on where i can find such thing. Any help would be of great use for me. I can't belive nobody on Mac can play this game. I'm sure there is a way to debug this.
Many thanks!
From a different source:
I've found this to work on my M1 MacBook Air:
Go to: /Users/YOURNAMEHERE/Library/Application Support/Sid Meier's Civilization VI
Open AppOptions.txt
Change render width to: RenderWidth 2560
Change render width to: RenderWidth 1440
And those two numerical values are the native resolution of your screen. In my case it's a 27 inch 1440p/144Hz Eizo Foris, it all suddenly looked amazing.
The saved values did persist. Although the issue I have now is that Civ6 on the Apple M1 (8/8) chip is not very fast and way too frustrating to play. But that's another issue for another day.
I bought Civ VI in the winter sale and got all excited to finally see what it's all about, however, after successfully installing the game I'm still unable to play it. The game launches but there's no window that's opening. I've tried reinstalling the game and also verifying the local files. I'm running Steam on the following system:
Mac Mini (Late 2014)
OS: Catalina (10.15)
Processor: 3GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7
Graphics: Intel Iris 1536 MB
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
What Mac OS are you running?
I've found Sierra (10.12) to be best for Civ 6. But I haven't tried higher in a while; they may have fixed it. That was mainly just choppiness in the units moving around, though... the only times I got a frozen Civ 6 app when I opened it, just quitting and reopening Steam fixed it.
I'm running Catalina (10.15). Other less demanding games run fine on here. Civ VI just never opened properly. :(
