The official Mac thread.
Aspyr is honored to announce the release of Civilization VI Mac!!! This is a thread for all the Apple heads out there. We will do our best to keep the thread updated with the latest information, as well as ongoing Mac details of this amazing game.

First and foremost, lets go over the officially supported system requirements:

Operating System: OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) and MacOS 10.12 (Sierra)
CPU Processor: Intel Core i5 (4 cores)
CPU Speed: 2.7 GHz
Memory: 6 GB
Hard Disk Space: 15 GB
Video Card (ATI): Radeon 6970M
Video Card (NVIDIA): GeForce 775M
Video Card (Intel): Iris Pro
Video Memory (VRam): 1 GB
Peripherals: Macintosh mouse and keyboard, Steam Controller (optional)

Its important to note that our minimum system requirements are based on a comprehensive knowledge of performance throughout the game. In short, we believe the above requirements are enough horsepower to fuel late game and large maps at acceptable frame rates, and we've set the default settings on every Mac for optimal performance within the game itself. Know that turning up any of the default settings will likely result in decreased performance.

We want to give a special shoutout to the fine folks at Firaxis and especially our friends at 2K QA. Without a great deal of cooperation and support from these partners, the Mac release near the Windows release is impossible.

Hi, when I attempt to install it says the data is all still encrypted, also the file is only 28 MB. Any tips?

Restart Steam, and possibly the computer.

As expressed, make certain if you got the 28MB file from over the weekend that you "Delete Local Content" and then try to install the game again. That worked for me.

No luck here. Every time I try, the only file available is the 28MB one. I tried:
- Cleared cache, quit steam, restart steam, no luck.
- Cleared cache, quit steam, restart computer, start steam, no luck.

Am in Singapore.

Do I need to pay for a Windows & a Mac version if I wish to play on both platforms?

Download and it is running beautifully; actually looks prettier than the windows version (probably because bootcamp doesnt have lastest drivers avail). I am running it at slightly higher rez than windows (4K is incredibly choopy buy 2.5K by 1.5 is great) but expected as i have only an i5 with 16Gig.

Kudos Aspyr!

FYI saves scross platforms ARE compatible and work fine - so those windows saves are working fine)

Question to Aspyr - In the windows client it sets recommended value to something very playable BUT on the MacOS version the default settings were 4k which, while technically working are very choppy on animation. I wonder whether the best settings need tweaking. But tthis is MINOR.

Cache and "Delete Local Content" are different things.

In your library, right-click the Civ VI game, select "Delete Local Content". This deletes the game files.

The quit Steam and open it again.

NOW try and download the game again.

It's possible the Steam data store for your zone hasn't been updated yet, I do t know how Valve handles that stuff.

You should definitely not be defaulting to 4K. If you dont mind posting your system specs, it would help us figure out if this is a bug.

Done that too. Mea Culpa for not writing it down earlier.
Will just wait.

For those who managed to download the full game, did you see 28MB downloador the full size game in the "Disk Space Required" window?

In the original preliminary specs, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB was supported but now Aspyr says it is not. Is it worth downloading and trying on my system (I exceed other requirements—i7 2.7/16 gb ram)
