Anyone else not able to load a game up? I waited for like an hour for a game to load it just wouldn't help?

what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on, didnt have this issue at first and now it just takes a long ass time to load, even on a tiny map

If you are on Windows 10 you need to add the install folder to the windows exception list.

Start by adding an exclusion for your Civ 6 folder. In Windows 10, from the start menu, go to 'Settings', then 'Update & Security', then 'Windows Defender'. Click 'Add an Exclusion', and then 'Exclude a Folder'. Navigate to your Civ 6 folder and select it. This way you can keep Windows Defender running but tell it to stop doing whatever it’s doing to Civ 6. If this doesn't work, try excluding your entire Steam folder.

Edit: I was having this issue last night and this morning. Doing what I mentioned above fixed the issue for me.

Its not caused by a patch, Window's Defender had an update and there have been tons of threads about this issue since yesterday.

Just open Windows Defender's settings, add an exclusion for your steam/common folder. Then the problem should be fixed.

I have Defender turned off, checked my firewall settings, even temporarily uninstalled my other antivirus stuff, added it to all exlusions list, and it still wont load. It briefly flashes a popup window that says "Preparing to Launch Civilation 6" which instantly dissapears, and nothing loads. I've checked for updates, verified file integrity, restarted, etc. Everything I've found suggestion and more. Any ideas?

Turn down your graphics. If the graphics quality exceeds the amount of VRAM you have it will be impossible to load onto VRAM, while the VRAM needed is low( <2GB ) its still possible.

happening on a 1070 as well. With a 4790k cpu. I think it's an issue with the game
