I have PLENTY of relic places, I mean a ton of them but I can't build archaelogists to get relics.
edit: I also said 'relic' instead of 'artifact' by mistake. Fixed, so as not to be confused with religious relics.
Most of my cities have the archelogical museums built (I am going for culture victory with Greece) but none have the option to build one. I've checked many of them.
I know, grasping at straws. I just want to believe at least one element in this game is not bugged or messed up
If you want to build more archeologists, you have to build them in another city with a museum, that has not already built one (or filled up its 3 slots before the archeologist was killed, I would expect). Possibly, if you could transfer artifacts from one museum to another museum, you might be able to keep an archelogist alive longer, but I do not know if such transfers are possible. Although I think it is possible to trade (diplomacy) or steal (with spies) artifacts and other objects between players.
Possibly Great Persons might help, and other civilizations might have better writers/artists/musicians and/or their places to keep their outputs. Religions might help with religious objects (or relics) or other Great Works that related to a religion.
Nope. I built every single thing available for my theater districts.
Yeh I didn't realise this, the archi lasts only as long as you have slots. So build 3-4 museums first and 1 will literally fill them all up. Which if you're england is alot of relics.
I had a museam in all of my cities and only ever got 1 archaelogist (the very first one). I checked all my cities and didn't have the option to build them in any of them. Save is gone now so I can't do any double checking, but by the end of the game I did have all theater districts for every city in my empire, all of them having every building available.
You can't you can either build an art or a relic museum, if you clicked the wrong one you can't make archi.
