HOW DO I GET AMENITIES IN CIV 6?!?
This is really aching my soul! I just finished a mega war with China, they destroyed nothing, and my cities are all in negative amenities, but before they were like +10. How do I bring it back to normal rate? What can I do to fix my amenities?

They are probably tired of war? Check the city status...or maybe you lost a luxury ressource or 10 :)

first off what is happening is most likely war wearriness. it is a stat newly added to 4x games that makes it more of a management requirement for war happy players/AI and curbs their ability to steam roll the map after getting a large military.

If that is not your problem then make sure you still have all your luxuries and entertainment amenities that you had at the start. also make sure you know that when a city grows it takes more amenities, when you have more cities they get spread arround your civilization. so it could also be that newly aquired cities from war soaking up your amenties and bringing your civ down to unprodective levels.

It is war weariness. They talked about this in one of their blog, the longer you are at war the more this war will wear out on your population. Give it time, it should come back to normal.

Its not that new actually :) Civ 4 citizens complained about war just the same... "War?!? What is it good for??" (red face) ;-)

Thank you, turns out it was war weariness, I been at war with rome for about 100+ turns, they still wont give up. I am on a small map and I really don't want to eliminate Rome because I want to keep everyone alive for a World War once i learn Infantry. But oh well, guess I am going to have to burn another one of their cities down.

If you kill off all his units, the AI will gladly sign for peace! You don't have to take their city.

Than make sure you have 3 times more units and they will never bother you regardless how much they hate you.

Do duplicate luxuries still bring in 4 ameneties if I have more than 4 cities? I think in Civ 5, duplicates didn't give you anything and was best traded.

No. Extra copies do nothing. Use them to trade for luxuries you don't have already.

Yes they do! Additional Luxuries boost the next four cities. So, one Salt, boosts 4... Two Salt, boosts 8 cities... Filthy Robot covered this... In the Understanding Basic City Management in this playlist, he explains it. Filthy Robot is also considered one of the best Civ players on YouTube.

He's also flat-out wrong at times.

Yeah, I thought they helped because when I traded them, it seemed to make things worse. I couldn't confirm though. thanks!
