You call that zoom out?

I guess the developers didn't really have the late gameplay in mind. Early gameplay is great but by the time you own the entire continent or two, trying to manage everything without able to zoom out to world view means a lot of scrolling around. Trying to organize and find anything becomes a real pain.

it's probably a bug because it doesn't make any sense. i've been trying to find out what's wrong with the zoom and how to disable to huge icons over the units... something is wrong. i've been enjoying a lot the game, but the short zoom and the fact that the icons over the units are extremely bad designed are limiting to much the gameplay. i'm probably going to quit this civ until all this visual bugs are fixed, we can't see and plan much the way it is now.

As Civ started decreasing in quality, the camera started being placed closer and closer to the ground, which brings us to civ 6, where the camera basically looks at the horizon.

You can zoom out slightly farther in strategic view but I would like it in normal view as well.

I've been looking for *any* zoom function but can't find one. No hotkey that I can find. Are you able to zoom at all? How do you manage it?

i've been trying it too, but looks like there are no zoom ou on this civ. i don't even understand how they didn't notice this bug on beta test. really weird.

not much anyway, at least on a 1080p monitor that "slightly farther" almost looks like the close up on the better previous civ games.

That's what happen when you gave early access to bunch of idiots who don't really play Civ. Make me cringe watching those civ6 gameplays on youtube. Real players who played Civ1 to BE don't get to give inputs on how the game is heading.

the globe view on civ IV was one of the most wonderful upgrades on civ, at that time I never expected to that we would lose that in the future releases, in fact I had expectations to see that globe view enhanced, and now we reached a point where we don't even have a zoom out.

this game really looks like it was designed by people who never played civ before.

you dont have to scroll anywhere much.left click the minimap to move to that area,or in the main screen click MMB to focus on that area.If you have a third mouse button.

Gee, I agree the zoom-out isn't out far enough, but rolling the mouse wheel to zoom seemed completely intuitive to me. Have people not been trying that or are they running on some sort of machine without a mouse wheel? (I don't think I could work without a mouse wheel any more, myself.)

mouse wheel zooming speed is about right for me,two spins on my wheel to max it.though i do agree the zoom out could be further and the wheel adjusted to match the new distance.

i can zoom in and out just fine with my scroll wheel, and a decent amount of zooming at that good enough where i say theres no issues

My framerate drops off really hard (72 fps to in the 40s) on my gtx 970 when I zoom out. My guess is it's a performance/stability measure.
