Starting positions are ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
I've been restarting games for like the last hour or two, to get a somewhat decent starting position. But I only get starting locations with 4 production. That or I have to move and lose 2 turns to get in a better spot, but that's death penalty on deity.

Look at this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crap. Im getting so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoyed by this game already.

Just settle in the starting position. Then build another settler and settle in the 'better' location. :D

Nope. It's not ideal, a bit much water, but it's not bad.

Missing production, hes got like 1 hill.

I do agree some starting locations are insane and others suck. This has always hapened in other civs but it seems worst in this one because your starting tiles can vary from 2 food 1 hammer to some ridiculous tiles like 5 food 2 hammers 1 gold.

The tiles in civ5 were all mostly similar with a difference of a few food/hammers at most.

You can use advance settings and choose "Balanced" or "Legendary" starting position.

And several resources that add production, or add production once improved (or both). 2 hills in ring 2.

Funny enough, that picture is on "Balanced"... but on deity the AI get a headstart and such starting locations mean instant loss.

What I do is I start the game with adv option balanced start so that every player gets roughly the same start. Also If you tweak the world you play in and less randomized you can change that. I understand sometimes luck is against you but you could change that.

the point of post wasnt "hey please give me some smart ass answers as to why my playstyle isnt godly like yours"....it was...did they take out a function that was heavily used in civ 5?

there isn't and i've to agree that starting positions are horrible in civ6.. i also had to restart games multiple times before i got too bored to do and just played with what i got -.- still it sucks.. i'm always playing with 4-5 ai's on a large map because i want to have enough room and on my current game 3 of 5 ai's started very close to me :( it just sucks -.-

The fact that you can't restart games without having to go back to the main menu and reselect all of the options you want again is really annoying as well. I have no clue why they didnt include that option.
