War Music
I feel pretty destroyed that there are no war tracks available per civ. I've noticed the amount of musical backgrounds tracks to be lower than in Civ 5. Do you think more will become available in the future? And aye, I'm in mad love about the progression of the music, It's just music is a powerful force to drive emotion, and without the war themes playing it doesn't feel as good fighting for your life.

I'm absolutely disappointed by the soundtrack this time around. Yeah we get civ4-like leader themes that change through the ages but they're pretty boring so far IMO. The civ5 had a much grander soundtrack.

Two of the most epic civ5 soundtracks:

England war theme :

Egypt war theme :

Two of the most epic themes in civ5, I don't see anything that comes remotely close to these in civ6 so far. Only the main theme stood out for me so far.

The English War theme pumped me up full of emotions as the player and the enemy. You just feel that dread/strength depending on what side you were on. The music alone changed the feel for war, and when you fought the music often got sad which made you think about the reason for war. It was fantastic. Absolutely loved it.

Now it feels the music has been gutted. The CIV progressive music is brilliant. I like that. But a lack of background music, civ war themes, and sad music to express the downs of war is a huge miss from the series :/

Indeed. I'm sure we all remember this one as well...

Please link me to something as remotely beautiful from civ6 soundtrack.

That was the one track that would make me feel so broken for going to war. It really did make you think whether it was worth doing so. The music was just brilliant. And yet Civ 6 has none of this sadness. I went to war and still had the cheerful music play... that's just wrong.

I agree to everything you guys said. Wartime music is an absolute MUST.

+1

i also made a thread about it one day after release and after i had my first 2 big wars as Rome in my first campaign while there was still this annoyingly happy clown-music playing.

i didnt even know if it was a bug or if they're kiddin me. it just felt all kinds of wrong.

seriously, how can they leave out the epic war themes in a game where war is such a big part?

I'm really hoping DLC brings back war and background music too. Listening to Spain's music when I'm England during wartime is a huge emotional disaster.

+1 the music score feels underwhelming. likethey just couldn't be bothered to have a feeling of immersion. This is going to be the first civ game I give a negitive review on

Or some classical Chinese while I'm fighting Rome as Germany.

I'm surprised the community has very little concern about the matter of the music. I thought everyone would be pretty annoyed at the lack of variety and war themes.

Russia's peace theme in the Atomic era almost made me piss myself.

I thought I was at war with them...

(Joke) They decided not to include war music, because they'd be all you'd hear during gameplay anyway.

I have to add that even the sound affects for military action is lacking also. The sound affects seem to muted compare to Civ 5.

Yeah they were too buisy programming my Aurora R4's external lights to turn red while at war and blue when at peace to focus on the music.
