Upgrading Units
How does one upgrade units? The Civilopedia has nothing on it.. so I'm guessing this means no upgrading your veterans to current gear.

Lame if so.

You need to actually acquire the tech to upgrade them, then click upgrade which has an upwards arrow icon with the gold cost on your unit menu.

Hi,

anyone knows how to upgrade multiple units at the same time ? at this point i had to upgrade almost 100 units manually one by one which is irritating

No.

The best you can do is select a unit and then click on it's name. That will show you a list of all your units. You will have to go through them all manually however.

I don't recall any civ games having an "upgrade all units" option before....

Civ4 did. You had to hold down alt, shift or control (I forget which) when clicking upgrade.

For the OP, it's also worth noting that you need the appropriate resource (just one copy) to upgrade, and if skipping tiers in an upgrade, you need the resource for the intermediate tier.

exactly !!!

There is a mod that adds units to the report screen. It's fast and easy to upgrade units on it

which mode?

Oh I don't recall that, then again it's been a while I played that. I do recall there was a wonder in 1 of the games that would upgrade all for free. Leonardo's Workshop I think. Oh the good old days.

Actually not sure this is true. In my current game I have been without Niter and as such stuck with Swordsmen for ages. Finally just got to the point I can make Infantry and I managed to upgrade my Swordman no problems at all to Infantry without needing Niter. He just skipped Musketman altogether.

Well, it was true on release. Maybe it was changed in the patch. I don't remember seeing it in the patch notes, but they weren't so short that I can remember all of them.

Aha something to keep an eye out for then.

I don't believe this was the case. I'm pretty sure you could always skip the intermediate step if you didn't have the resource for it, but could build the new one.
