Can't continue/load save games?

Any idea what's going on here? Every time I click "Resume Game" or try and load an autosave manually, I just get a flash of a black green with "Start Game" in the centre, then i'm instantly thrown back to the main menu. The autosaves don't have any details saved when I mouseover them, either - i'd attach a screenshot, but print screen is just copying solid black.

Also, every time I have to edit a setting while in game, the whole thing crashes as soon as I click "Confirm". Bit annoying when I just want to change the music volume. Doubly so when I can't resume my game afterwards.




(Not that i'm whinging. The game is great, from what i've seen so far)

having the exact same problem, what gives? I click load, black screen, straight to main menu. autosaves aswell...it worked fine last night when I loaded it. I don't even know if I want to start a new game either if I can't save and resume at a later date.

Double posting, but after a bit of messing around, it appears (at least for me) that it's a form of save corruption, as I started a new game, immediatley saved it and the save worked fine, but when attempting to load my previous saves my leader icon and all other info appears as a question mark in the load screen.

I fixed it eventually! The game wasn't saving at all, for some reason - the save files themselves were 0KB. Forcing the game to run as administrator seems to solve it.

Right, I take that back. I just tried to jump back into a game I was playing at 300 turns or so, and the only usable save is a manual one I made back on turn 52. This is ridiculous. A whole day wasted.

I'm having the same problem as well. But the curious thing is that this problem only started recently for me and don't have this issue on any of my older saves, even the modded ones which have the same loadout. What gives? Has anyone come up with an answer?

I had the issues with a particular mod, but it may not be limited to just that mod. Definitely going to be some kind of conflict, best thing to do is check all your mods to rule out which one is doing it. A tedious task I know, gets worse with more mods. I only had 10 mods so I just did them one by one until I found the culprit but if you have more, it may be easier to break it in half, see which half don't work, break that in half again, see which half of that doesn't work and so forth. Also keep in mind it could be multiple mods.
