Freeze on Exit

Has anyone had this same issue? Press Exit to Desktop and the entire computer freezes?

Im running on a Win 10 config. More info if needed.

Yes, same here. Won't quit to desktop, just hangs.

Almost the same here, I can quit the game if I don't play too long (not sure yet where the limit is, around 2 hours maybe) but it's still very frustrating.

Me too. Exit to desktop just causes game to freeze, not the entire PC though. I have to terminate it by force. Playing on Win 7.

The way i got around it is, if you quit to main menu and then exit to desktop, it doesnt freeze for more than a couple seconds.

I hv the same problem yesterday. and solved. the keyword is windows 7 sp1. you should update from mocrosoft official site. then run SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2015\vc_redist.x64, to repair the microsoft visual C++

Yep. The only way i can get out of it is to shutdown pc & restart. It's a serious bug.

same here.. cant even tab to desktop or bring up taskmanager....win 10 workaround: push win-key - open 2nd desktop - drag civ vi to 2nd desktop - bring up taskmanager - end civ vi task

Yeah this bugs annoying. Both myself and my partner experienced it on our respective rigs which run the same version of windows and have the same GPU but nothing else. I get round it by alt tabbing then signing out of windows then signing back on again.

Just happened again to me, seems to be a majorish bug imo.

had the same issue. closed to desktop, game screen was still displayed and no windows could appear over it, so i couldn't even close the process. had to restart as well. same thing happened when the game crashed for me, too, and now i can't open the game back up :/

I have gotten the same crash while exiting. It started after getting past turn 200 or so. When trying to get around with bringing up the task manager it just goes to the frozen screen.

Seeing the same issue on windows 10. If I exit the game I get a black screen. I can pull up the task bar but can't do anything on the main screen. I still see the CIV pointer when I move the mouse around. Have to restart to clear it.

To stop this exit to main menu first, then exit game

Nope, i've tryed to exit by first going to the main menu and then exit the game, but even then the game occasionaly freezes, a bit less tho. They will have to launch a fix for it.
