If you have save games you want to keep be sure to move the save folder to your desktop or somewhere safe from Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Saves (replace them later once steam has reinstalled the folder and contents).
Then after the Civ VI folder is deleted from documents all you have to do is verify the Civ VI files in steam by right clicking the title in the library>properties>local files>verify integrity of game cache.
Let it run and once its complete it will of reinstalled Civ VI into documents again with default settings.Move your saves back start the game and test the resolution. This is only to fix your full screen issue, not the M and KB problem.
My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\GraphicsOptions.txt
If you need to manually change something either delete the file or edit it direcctly
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/289070/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/My Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/GraphicsOptions.txt
I found graphics options are stored here:
~/.local/share/aspyr-media/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/AppOptions.txt
...
;Render width in pixels.
RenderWidth 1920
;Render height in pixels.
RenderHeight 1080
;0 : windowed, 1 : fullscreen, 2 : windowed with no title bar
FullScreen 1
...
Anyhow, I deleted the complete aspyr-media directory, probably it is enough to delete/manipulate the AppOptions.txt. After that civ6 started properly again for me.
Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI
After that everything worked properly again. It just resets the graphics settings and allows you to manually enter you graphics settings within the game.
I actually used the Windows fiel search in the Windows Explorer and it found the file after a while:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VI/AppOptions.txt
Hope that helps!

I was literally just trying to find this stupid config file on my Windows install based on the Mac file paths above. I am playing a LAN game, and we disconnected the laptops from our desktop monitors to use the built in display of our laptops on the sofa. Why is this game such trash lol. Thank you for posting the file location for Windows literally 7 hours ago so I could find this in a 6 year old thread.
10/10 game
Also 10/10 game, spending 30 minutes trying to fix it so it works on boot really adds to the experience
I id this too. Now it works. Thanks
