Why don't the leaders speak?
When I first began playing Civ VI the leaders were not animated. I figured out how to get them to be animated but they don't speak; I only see dialogue boxes. Any tips on how to fix this?

I'm having this same problem. Quite annoying, because I know they have voice lines because of the quotes you can play from them in the civilopedia.

After the introduction they barely say anything, they mostule use body language.

Noticed this aswell, its a small thing but it really makes the leaders have less of a personality for me

I don't get animation or speaking. How did you get the animation?

My civ leaders speak and are quite animated while doing so. You may need to check all your initial settings to be sure that this feature is enabled. Some civ leaders, such as Tomyris may utter just one word, such as "heh" or "K". Others, like the German leader, use complex sentences. Animation and native speech adds to the diplomacy and realism of the game, so try to enable it in the setup menus. If your graphics card allows, enabling 8X antialiasing allows for quite an experience when "conversing" with the various leaders.

My civ leaders spoke for a little bit, then stopped. Weird.

I'm on minimum settings — except for the quality of animated leaders, which I've put on high, and the leaders sometimes talk, but mostly don't.
