I really was looking forward to play this game since i loved Civ V and spent a good ammount of money buying this game
Windows 10 (64-bit)
GeForce GTX 950
i3-6100 with 8GB of RAM
The GPU supports both DX11 and DX12 according to the NVidia website.
When I launch the game via the Steam Library, I get the following 2 options:
1) Play CIV 6
2) Play CIV 6 (DX12) - Win10 v1607+
Option 1 which is the DX11 version launches without any problems whereas Option 2 gives me the error message "Display device has failed".
I've also created 2 shortcuts on my desktop with one linked to the regular EXE file and the other linked to the DX12 EXE file. When I launch the game directly from both shortcuts, I don't get any error messages, even with the DX12 EXE file.
However in both cases, while playing the game, it will crash with the error message "Display driver has failed". That has happened with both the DX11 and DX12 version.
Can someone provide any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks
Can you post your output from Steam-Help-System Information

Civ works with 8GB ram and less, but windows and whatever other apps you have, does take ram from your game, so I have found a good RAM base is 12GB.
RAM is cheap. Even the most crap brands are well good enough.
The 3 main issues I have seen people have, is not having Win 10, updated GPU drivers or havnt updated/checked Dx.
There is a DX-Setup file in the Civ 6 game folder. Run that and your system gets a fresh/fixed/updated version.
Win 10 fixes so many issues that Win 8 and Vista has. Win 7 seams to handle the game better then them. Upgrade.
