Tried this, Launched CS GO then Launched Civ tried joining my friend game, didn't work. Do you have to be in a game in CS GO?
A couple of things you could check:
1) In the Friends tab in the top-left of the Steam browser, check you're not in Offline mode.
2) Go to the Civ VI page in your Steam Library and check, on the right of that page, that you're signed in to Steam Friends. It'll say 'Sign In' if you're not.
THIS WORKS corfirmed with Hades vulkan RT.
If anything, the past 6 months updates has improved multiplayer games.
For once, you dont need to have the same mods anymore.
I have noticed that players who dont use Win 10, get weird issues sometimes. This is OS and system related which of course makes your gaming experience worse.
If you can play civ solo with no problems, you should not get any issues in multiplayer now.
What system are you using?
Do you have all expansions?
Is your game steam updated?
