Can't join Multiplayer games?

Is anyone else getting error after retrieving host data?
I and my friend can't join games :/

I am getting 'error joining multiplayer session' message, could be the same issue. It seems steam is not showing me as in-game aswell, could be related?

same issue from today. yesterday everything was OK

I get a lot of de-syncing issues and the game occasionally will freeze. I also got this weird occurance in a multiplayer game with a friend yesterday where the leader would pop up but world view was blacked out to where you couldn't see your cities or units.

It might be. People seem to think they are related.

This worked for me and my friend.
Seems that it is steam's problem. I guess CIV6 can't fully connect to steam, and it does not allow to establish connection with server. This workaround is similar to steam mp crack workarounds, but this workaround is without any cracks... So it is kinda legal and safe mp crack :D

What game did you open? I'm trying this method, tried using SCBW and SC2, still can't join rooms. I'm telling my buddy to do the same, so we both have a game running in background. I'll let you know if it works.

Me and my buddy ran a SC2 game in the background, and no luck.
