Audio Problem
Every Time end a turn my auto turns off and on like it cuts in and out. I tested a youtube video see if it was me but it seems to be the game? anyone else have same problem?

So far best answer: Thank you Mr.Evian

This worked for me. it was in a slightly older post by a Chinese poster. Thank you very much!!

"You need to reduce your sampling rate for your sound card I had the problem and changed from 24bit 192000hz to 16bit 48000hz and it works fine now. Not sure what rates it will work on i will test them all later

Right click your speaker icon in the task bar and select playback devices.

Right click your sound card (should be marked with a green tick if you have multible) and select properties.

Select advanced and change the default format 16bit 48000hz is what worked for me haven't tried anything else yet"

Reporting back about fix. It works! Thank you. Now I have normal audio. I never could tell any difference between the different audio settings anyway!

3. The reason you need to lower the audio quality is because you are trying to virtualize a surround environment with substandard headphones instead of real good quality audio equipment. If you want studio quality audio then use studeio quality equipment and you will have no problems. If, like me, and you, and the others with this problem, you are using very cheap poor quality headphones you picked out of a bargain bin, then turn down the sound quality to match your equipment and the problem goes away.
I can respect that but do note my audio issue is not the same as the others so far only one other has mentioned having the same issue as I have. Also note the hotfix for turning down the Quality did not fix the issue. Thirdly, I can garauntee you it is not the quality of equipment or software on my side of the coin that is the issue. I don't use headphones by the way.

like uncle_joe i've updated drivers, and all other audio is working fine; game audio is choppy and sped up from the opening movie and in game.

can only play game on mute right now.

also, changing format to 48000hz hasn't made it better.

also, noting that turning on civ iv mutes all other audio on pc even when minimised

why can't i play music AND civ iv?!??!?

VI not IV

I am using headphones because I am in a noisy environment. I should really invest in nice headphone but never have gotten around to it.

My problems were:

- mild static in game
- very bad static when game music was turned to audible levels
- audio for cutscenes leader scenes and quotes was ultra quick like it was being played on fast forward.
- mild chopping in cinematic
- extreme lag in cinematic (sound was ahead of the video.)

By following the instructions provided above I changed my audio quality from studio quality to CD quality and this completely fixed all the audio issues I had. Thanks again for the fix guys.

If you have a different issue or this fix does not work for you, you have my sympathy. Hopefully you find a fix soon. I felt very bad when I was unable to enjoy this game before I found my fix.

My only Issue is the Voicing Audio is practically a whisper. So far my only solution has been to put all other Audio on 2% and crank the volume up drastically.

For now I will simply go without the voiceovers as doing that is not such a good idea for my speakers

As of right now there's a bug in the game with audio. Changing the sound quality from 48000 24bits to 16bits does help out with some of the problems people are having. HOWEVER people who are having other problems with audio that is not connected to the changing channel frequence. They're working on a hot fix to repair a lot of bugs that players are facing. Takehitsu If you could explain exacatly whats happening with your audio. Like does your frames drop during the time of the audio problem or is it just certin civ players.

Are you muting your audio from inside the game settings? Or from your Computer settings?

Don't talk low about people equipment not everyone has money to throw around and buy 5 star headsets like Sennheiser and SteelSeries. Also the Hz changing is due to bad quality of headset it's due to a mistype in the code for Civ VI that hasn't be coded properly so the highest some can get to is 48000Hz 16Bit. I can understand the frustration some people are having but you have to remember it just launched and it bound to have problems. Give the dev's some time to fix there problems. I mean after all we're not talking about No Man Sky.......
Firaxis is a well know company that cares about it's people (Gamers) and it's rep. Give a good day or so and they will release hotfix left and right.

Apologies for not returning earlier sleep, and work etc. Anyways the only thing I can note is that during the scenes where the foreign advisors are supposed to talk I cannot hear them. For a few of them I can hear them the very first time I talk to them as if there was nothing wrong what so ever. The audio is not being muted I am leaving the settings Vanilla for now.

Anytime after the Initial meeting I can hear no vocal audio the music continues I dont notice any change in frame rates although I did not have a ticker in the top to keep track of it at this point I will turn that on today to see if I notice a differance or not.

I had the same problem, this fixed it for me.

Have an audio software that came with my headphones called Sound Blaster XFi3, under Advanced Settings the Speakers/Headphones Configuration the program had been set to Surround.

Change it to Stero took care of all the problem.
